Books for Hope 2024 Campaign
For many years, Books for hope has been a much loved and engaging program bringing books to remote school libraries. Access to new and engaging novels, reference books, classics, translations and more is very limited in rural areas.
The Books for Hope campaign 2024 continues its book donation program to schools selected by Teach for Armenia. Oxford Armenia Foundation thrives in donating book titles chosen by children from 6 to 18 years old together with the teaching staff. Every 3 months, Oxford Armenia Foundation coordinates a book donation drive to 3 schools.
This well-established program supports whole schools communities by restocking new and engaging books in schools’ libraries.
Schools can download the book review document for readers to fill in and return to oxfordarmeniafoundation@gmail.com

KARDA Project 24-25
KARDA, READ in English, program encourages children to develop their literacy and critical thinking skills. Karda is implemented on a yearly basis by Nor Arar Educational NGO in 12 schools across the Lori region and is aimed at 2 different year groups. Karda has been successfully engaging and supporting pupils and teachers to nurture a culture of reading for pleasure, discussing stories and sharing ideas on books. Karda brings the love of books back to the classrooms enhancing literacy and supporting different subject teachers.
The KARDA 23-24 program is coming to an end with the KARDA Conference scheduled on the 13th April 2024. OAF is now preparing KARDA 24-25, by planning the procurement of over 230 books to deliver to participating schools in May 2024.
We rely on your donations to fund this invaluable literacy program, please donate to OAF Crowdfunding campaign: Capacity Building for Rural Children in Armenia.

Online English Clubs
OAF Online English conversation clubs have been running since May 2024 at two community centres operated by the Armenian Caritas in Gyumri and Gavar. Two volunteer Oxford University students, David and Eliska, deliver weekly Zoom sessions to teenagers at these centres. After a break in August, they will resume in September. This impactful project empowers participating teens’ language and speaking skills and it opens doors to cultural exchange.
